Detroit Tigers don't tender Daniel Schlereth contract for 2013

Left-handed pitcher left season in April with tendinitis

DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers said Friday the club will not tender lefthanded pitcher Daniel Schlereth a contract for the 2013 season.

Schlereth compiled a 10.29 ERA (7.0IP/8ER) in six appearances with the Tigers during the 2012 season before landing on the disabled list for the remainder of the season on April 21 with left shoulder tendinitis.

He saw action with both Single A Lakeland and Triple A Toledo during the 2012 season as part of an injury rehabilitation assignment. Schlereth posted a 1.13 ERA (8.0IP/1ER) in eight appearances (six starts) with Lakeland, while he compiled a 10.80 ERA (1.2IP/2ER) in three outings with Toledo.

Schlereth posted a 4-2 record and 3.98 ERA (74.2IP/33ER) in 73 outings during three seasons with the Tigers.
