Detroit Tigers Third Baseman Miguel Cabrera

New York, NY - Miguel Cabrera hit his 42nd home run of the season Sunday as the Tigers completed the sweep against the Mets with a 11-3 win.

Cabrera's 2-run home run got the Tigers on the board in the first inning. It was part of a three-hit afternoon for Cabrera. 

Andy Dirks also had a good day. He hit a home run in the 6th inning, and had 3 RBI.

In all, the Tigers had 18 hits Sunday. They outhit the Mets 41-18 in three games.

The Tigers were leading by one, when they opened things up with a 7-run 9th inning.

Rick Porcello pitched seven innings, allowed four hits and three runs. He struck out four.

Tigers open up a seven-game homestand on Monday when they welcome the Oakland Athletics to Comerica Park.
