Yoenis Cespedes eligible to make team in Final Vote

DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers will send at least four players to the MLB's 2015 All Star game on July 14.

Cabrera, who batted .350 and hit 15 homers in 77 first-half games, will not play in the game due to a Grade 3 calf strain that is expected to sideline him for six weeks. It's the fourth time Cabrera has been named a starter for the All-Star game and his 10th trip overall.

For Price, who's 8-2 with 107 strikeouts and a 2.54 ERA in 17 starts for Detroit, it's his fifth trip to the Midsummer Classic, and first for the Tigers.

Martinez and Iglesias were each named to the team for the first time in their careers.

The Tigers have a chance to send a fifth player to the All-Star game, as outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is a member of the MLB's "Final Vote."

Cespedes will battle Boston's Xander Bogaerts, Minnesota's Brain Dozier, New York's Brett Gardner and Kansas City's Mike Moustakas in the final vote, which is determined by the fans.
