Report: Chauncey Billups to return to Pistons with two-year deal

Yahoo!Sports is reporting Chauncy Billups has signed a two-year deal with the Detroit Pistons

AUBURN HILLS, Mich.orREYahoo!Sports is reporting that Chauncey Billups will return to the Detroit Pistons on a two-year contract.

According to Yahoo!Sports the deal is worth $5 million for Billups.

The report says Billups is looking foward to finishing his career where it blossomed in the mid-2000s. He was traded by the Pistons in 2009 to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Allen Iverson.

Yahoo!Sports says Billups will play the part of mentor for Piston guard Brandon Knight and be a rotation guard off the bench for Detroit.

Billups is a five-time All-Star and made the NBA Finals MVP for his play in the Pistons' 2004 championship series victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.

In February 2012 he underwent successful surgery to repair a torn left Achilles tendon.

On Tuesday, the Pistons announced Rasheed Wallace was returning to the team as a member of Detroit's coaching staff.

Wallace, the No. 4 pick in the 1995 draft, will work with Detroit's young bigs Greg Monroe, Andre Drummond and second-round pick Tony Mitchell.

Wallace helped the Pistons win the NBA title in 2004 and played there until 2009. He also played for the Washington Bullets (1995-96), Portland Trail Blazers (1996-2004), Atlanta Hawks (2004) and Boston Celtics (2009-10). He averaged 14.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in his career.
