NOVI, Mich. – Detroit Catholic Central High School's long-time football coach Tom Mach is retiring after 41 years.
A school spokesman said the coach informed his team Thursday morning that he is retiring.

Mach has led the Shamrocks to 10 state championships and 17 Catholic League titles. The team went 13-1 this past season and lost in the state final.
Mach is shown in his element in the photo above. Every day, no matter the weather, was the perfect day for football.
He was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.
