DETROIT – Detroit City FC begins preseason play this Saturday with a scrimmage against Saginaw Valley State University. 

When: 6 p.m. Saturday
Where: Hurley Field in Berkley
Admission: $5 and free to any season ticket holder as of April 4, 2014

Nicknamed Le Rouge, Detroit City FC is back for their third season of competition in the National Premiere Soccer League, which is considered the 4th tier of American soccer. This summer they will compete in the Great Lakes West Conference with Lansing United, Michigan Stars FC, the Cincinnati Saints and Westfield Select. 

The team's first 2014 regular season game is 1 p.m. May 10 against the Cincinnati Saints at Detroit Cass Tech High School, where they play their home games.

Single game and season tickets are available through the team's website. 

Last year, Le Rouge finished 1st in the Great Lakes Conference as they went undefeated in the regular season (11-1-0) but lost in the post season final to Erie Admirals SC.
