The team has many needs, including offensive line, secondary, and linebackers. Here's who the experts are picking for the Detroit Lions, and what they're saying:

CBS Sports: Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan: Stellar play from quarterback Matthew Stafford has diverted attention from a Detroit pass rush that struggled with star Ziggy Ansah limited by an ankle injury. The Lions need not look far for help. Only emerging as a full-time starter for Michigan this season, Charlton developed into one of the country's better edge rushing prospects, boasting exciting initial quickness and bend given his 6-5, 272-pound frame.

SBNation: Malik McDowell, DE/DT, Michigan StateThe Lions should have plenty of options at No. 21, including tight ends and several players on the defensive line. If they trade down, they should still safely find a capable starter. In this mock they stick at 21 and go for McDowell, a player they can line up at end and tackle to create pressure.

Bleacher Report: Dawuane Smoot, DE, Illinois: All-Big Ten third team, 56 tackles, 5 sacks in 2016.

FOX Sports: Marlon Humphrey - CB - Alabama: He was susceptible to big plays this season, but he has the build, athleticism and toughness to be a factor anywhere in the defensive secondary. The Lions need help almost everywhere on defense, so even if he has to convert to safety, he’ll be a solid pick.

NFL.com: David Njoki, TE, Miami: GM Bob Quinn appreciates the benefits of having two athletic tight ends after spending so many years in New England.

NFL.com: Teez Tabor, CB, Florida: The Lions have had issues in the secondary for years. Tabor should help lock down one side of the field

NFL.com: Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama: Robinson would replace Riley Reiff at right tackle should Reiff leave in free agency.

Rotoworld: O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama: I know this will surprise many of you, but I think the Lions make tight end a priority this offseason. Not necessarily to replace Eric Ebron, but rather one to compliment him. Plus Howard is far more talented than Ebron.
