ANN ARBOR, Mich. -

A Michigan high school football player was struck in the face with a crutch during a brawl between players and coaches from two teams.

Ann Arbor police tell AnnArbor.com that the player was taken Friday night to a local hospital where he received stitches.

The fight started after Ann Arbor Pioneer defeated Huron High School 35-6 at Huron. Huron head coach Cory Gildersleeve and Pioneer head coach Paul Test exchanged words at midfield.

Test was pushed and another Pioneer coach hit Gildersleeve. Players on both teams began to throw punches.

AnnArbor.com reports that Huron's coach was upset that Pioneer ran offensive plays with the game's outcome decided.

Police Lt. Renee Bush said the fight is under investigation and detectives will review video from the game.

No arrests were made.
