There have been calls for Brandon's firing this week after he admitted that mistakes were made in the handling of quarterback Shane Morris' "probable, minor concussion."

Brandon pointed to a "serious lack of communication" between the Wolverines' coaching staff and medical personnel. Morris absorbed multiple hits in Saturday's game, but the helmet-to-helmet hit that left his staggered and unable to stand upright was not seen by medical staff, Brandon claimed.

A petition started this week by Michigan students for the ouster of Brandon has garnered more than 7,000 signatures from faculty, students and staff.

Students staged an on-campus rally Tuesday night to also push for Brandon's resignation. The Michigan Daily, the campus newspaper, has also called for coach Brady Hoke's dismissal.
