NFL Hall of Famer Lem Barney says he believes society will eliminate football in 10 to 20 years because it has become "more deadly."
Barney spoke Friday at the Sound Mind Sound Body Football Academy that attracted high school players and coaches such as Michigan's Brady Hoke, Michigan State's Mark Dantonio and first-year Wisconsin coach Gary Anderson.
Concussion awareness was part of the program for participants, mostly high school students. Dantonio used practice video to show a packed auditorium how the Spartans are taught to avoid head injuries while tackling.
Barney is among the hundreds of former football players suing the NFL over how it handled head injuries.
