DETROIT – The Detroit Lions moved to 2-1 on the young season Sunday with a big NFC North victory over the rival Green Bay Packers (1-2). Detroit's defense led the way in the victory, scoring nine points and shutting down Aaron Rodgers, one of the best quarterbacks in the NFC.
The Lions' offense struggled throughout the game, as the defense scored the team's first nine points. Nick Fairley forced an Eddie Lacy fumble and Don Carey returned it 40 yards for the first score of the game. Then DeAndre Levy blew through the line to tackle Lacy in the end zone for a safety to account for the Lions' second score.
