Lions' Stephen Tulloch out for season with torn ACL

Injury woes continue for Detroit defense

DETROIT – The Detroit Lions left Ford Field with a huge victory on Sunday afternoon, but it wasn't without the news of a major loss.

Linebacker Stephen Tulloch, who has been one of the top all-around defenders on the team for several years, will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL. Tulloch injured his knee while celebrating a sack of Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The Lions' defense has been plagued by injuries early in the season, losing cornerback Bill Bentley and two of his backups, including rookie Nevin Lawson.

Detroit will likely fill the void left by Tulloch with reserve linebackers Ashlee Palmer and Travis Lewis. DeAndre Levy and Tahir Whitehead are the starters on the outside.

On Sunday the Lions will travel to New York to battle the Jets.
