ANN ARBOR, Mich. -

The University of Michigan football team announced a home and home series with the University of Washington that will take place in 2020 and 2021.

Michigan announced earlier this month that it would be revealing two home and home deals with major opponents in August. The two-game series with Washington will be played during the same seasons as a home and home with Virginia Tech.

The Wolverines will travel to Seattle to play in Husky Stadium on September 5, 2020. Michigan will host Washington in the Big House on September 18 the following season.

Michigan and Washington are attempting to rekindle an old rivalry between teams that met in the Rose Bowl four times. Each team won two of those titles, but Michigan holds an overall record of 7-5 against the Huskies all-time, including a 2-2 record in Washington and 3-1 record in Ann Arbor.

The last meeting between the teams was in 2002, when Michigan clinched a 31-29 win on a last-second score.
