Michigan and Washington are attempting to rekindle an old rivalry between teams that met in the Rose Bowl four times. Each team won two of those titles, but Michigan holds an overall record of 7-5 against the Huskies all-time, including a 2-2 record in Washington and 3-1 record in Ann Arbor.

The last meeting between the teams was in 2002, when Michigan clinched a 31-29 win on a last-second score.
