Ndamukong Suh suspended for Lions' first-round playoff game

NFL suspends Suh for stepping on Aaron Rodgers

DETROIT – Ndamukong Suh will be suspended for Detroit's first-round playoff game in Dallas on Sunday after the defensive tackle appeared to purposely step on Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, Ian Rapoport of the NFL announced.

After Rodgers threw a pass in the second half of the Lions' 30-20 loss, Suh backed into the quarterback and stepped on his lower leg, which previously caused Rodgers to be removed from the game and carted into the locker room.

This is Suh's second career suspension for stepping on a Packers player, as he missed two games in 2012 for stomping on Even Dietrich-Smith during the Thanksgiving Day loss.

Suh is on the final year of his rookie contract and is eligible to become a free agent during the offseason. If the Lions fall to the Cowboys Sunday, it's possible that the Pro-Bowlers has played his last game for Detroit.

Jim Caldwell said in a press conference Monday that it would take 'a miracle' for defensive tackle Nick Fairley to return to the team for Sunday's game. That means Teryl Austin's defense could be without its top two defensive tackles in the first round.
