Nyquist replaces Franzen on Sweden's Olympic roster

Gustav Nyquist gets call to represent Sweden day after his 1st NHL hat trick

DETROIT – A day after scoring his first NHL hat trick, Detroit Red Wings forward Gustav Nyquist has been selected to replace injured teammate Johan Franzen on Sweden's Sochi roster.

Franzen pulled himself out of the Olympics last week due to lingering concussion issues. It was immediatley rumoured that Nyquist would be his replacement. The three goals on Sunday against the Washington Capitals probably made the decision much easier for Team Sweden.

Nyquist joins fellow Swedish teammates Henrik Zetterberg, Niklas Kronwall, Daniel Alfredsson, Jonathan Ericsson and Jonas Gustavsson.
