Red Wings have 15th pick in 2014 NHL Draft

2014 NHL Entry Draft starts Friday night in Philadelphia

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings have the 15th overall pick in this year's NHL Entry Draft.

The first round of the two-day day event will be held Friday (7 p.m. ET; NBCSN, TSN, RDS); rounds 2-7 will take place Saturday (10 a.m. ET; NHL Network).

It's anyone's guess who the Red Wings will take this year at No. 15. It's the highest pick they've had since 1991 when they took Martin Lapointe 10th overall.

The Red Wings chose forward Anthony Mantha with the 20th overall pick last year. Mantha scored 57 goals and 63 assists in 57 games this past season with the QMJHL's Val-d'Or Foreurs.

He's expected to make an appearance with Detroit during the pre-season.
