Red Wings play 1st home preseason game tonight against Blackhawks

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings will host the Chicago Blackhawks Thursday night for their first 2014-15 preseason game at Joe Louis Arena.

Thursday night game time: 7:30 p.m.

The Blackhawks hosted the Red Wings Tuesday night, beating the Wings 2-1 in overtime. Luke Glendening scored Detroit's loan goal while Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews scored for Chicago.

Petr Mrazek and Jonas Gustavsson split time between the pipes -- Mrazek made 6 saves on 7 shots and Gustavsson made 11 saves on 12 shots.

The Red Wings are now 1-1 in the preseason with six games remaining. Detroit beat the Pittsburgh Penguins, 2-1, on Monday night in Pittsburgh.

The Red Wings host the Boston Bruins on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Thursday's game will not be televised in the Detroit area, nor will it be available on the radio.
