Red Wings recall Tomas Jurco from AHL

21-year-old forward has 32 points in 32 games with Grand Rapids Griffins this season

DETROIT - The Detroit Red Wings have recalled forward Tomas Jurco from the team's AHL affiliate the Grand Rapids Griffins, according to a team tweet.

Jurco, 21, has appeared in 7 games this season with Detroit, tallying 2 goals and 1 assist. With the Griffins, the Slovakia native has notched 13 goals and 19 assists in 32 games this season.

Jurco's last game with the Red Wings was Dec. 30 against the Nashville Predators. On Dec. 21, he scored a goal and an assist as the Red Wings beat the Toronto Maple Leafs, 5-4.

He has been selected to Slovakia's Olympic team.

The Wings visit the New York Rangers on Thursday night.
