The Detroit Lions signed free agent punter Drew Butler and released safety Gabe Lynn, the team announced Friday.

Butler joins the Lions after spending time with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2012) and the Chicago Bears (2013). An undrafted free agent out of Georgia, Butler last played in an NFL game in 2012 with the Steelers, when he appeared in 16 games and tallied 77 punts for a net average of 37.8 yards, and had 26 punts inside the 20-yard line.

Lynn was an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma.
