DETROIT -

The Great Lakes Invitational college hockey tournament championship game will feature Michigan Tech and Western Michigan at 7 p.m. Saturday outdoors at Comerica Park.

On Friday, Michigan Tech (7-9-5) beat Michigan State in a shootout, 3-2, and Western Michigan (8-8-3) defeated Michigan in overtime, 3-2.

Michigan Tech won its first GLI championship in 30 years last year and is looking to win back-to-back titles in the oldest college hockey tournament in the U.S. since 1979-80.

This is a rematch of last year's GLI championship game.

A consolation match between Michigan State and Michigan will be played at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, also at Comerica Park.
