Mike Ilitch was owner of Detroit Tigers since 1992

DETROIT – Commissioner Robert D. Manfred Jr. of Major League Baseball has issued a statement regarding the passing of Mike Ilitch, the owner of the Detroit Tigers since 1992:

"Mike Ilitch was far more than a model owner of the Tigers franchise, the team he loved all his life and played for as a minor leaguer.
