10 years ago: Tigers win pennant on Magglio Ordonez walk-off home run

DETROIT – October 14, 2006: The Detroit Tigers win the American League pennant, sweeping the Oakland Athletics after a walk-off home run from Magglio Ordonez clinches the series.

It's one of the most memorable Detroit sports moments in recent history.

The scene: Bottom of the 9th, game tied 3-3. Two men on for the Tigers, and one win away from the World Series.

Magglio Ordonez steps up to the plate and rockets a home run to left field, sending Comerica Park into a frenzy - and sending the Tigers to the World Series.
