Boy gets wish, meets Tigers' Austin Jackson

Make-A-Wish Foundation gets boy battling Crohn's disease to Comerica Park for Tigers' batting practice

DETROIT – A very special dream came true Tuesday evening at Comerica Park before the Detroit Tigers took on the Minnesota Twins.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation arranged for 15-year-old Austin Foote to go on the field for Tigers batting practice. Austin has battled Crohn's and Colitis which forced doctors to remove his large intestine, put him through chemotherapy and keep him in the hospital for long periods of time.

However, on Tuesday evening Austin met Austin -- Austin Jackson, the Tigers' centerfielder.

"I picked the Tigers because I'm really into baseball and you guys are good role models around here, and it's good for Detroit," Foote said to Jackson.

He also told Jackson that if he had another wish it would be to be able to play at Comerica Park for the Tigers.
