CHICAGO - Jhonny Peralta homered and knocked in two runs and Rick Porcello pitched seven scoreless innings as visiting Detroit defeated Chicago.

Porcello (7-6) escaped a bases-loaded, two-out jam in the first inning with a groundout and allowed four hits, walked three and struck out one in a 93-pitch outing. Hernan Perez added two hits and a pair of RBIs for the Tigers, who were without reigning American League MVP Miguel Cabrera due to a hip injury.

Paul Konerko belted a two-run double in the ninth for the White Sox, who committed a season-high four errors and have seven combined in losing the first two games of the series. Chicago starter Hector Santiago (3-6) gave up six runs (three earned) on five hits and five walks over six innings.

Matt Tuiasosopo reached on an error to open the fourth, moved to third on a double by Victor Martinez and scored on Peralta's single to left. Don Kelly's bases-loaded walk pushed across the second later in the inning and a Perez sacrifice fly gave the Tigers a 3-0 lead.

Peralta extended the advantage with a solo blast into the left-field seats on Santiago's second pitch of the sixth inning, and the Tigers added two more for a 6-0 lead. After Alex Avila walked, Perez drilled a triple into the gap in left-center and came home when left fielder Dayan Viciedo bobbled the ball near the wall.
