Cheerleaders will be judged on stunt, basket and tumbling ability, personality, self-confidence, enthusiasm and the ability to be a team player -- all qualities that embody being a member of the Detroit Pistons Cheer Team.

All participants are required to wear workout attire and cheer shoes while submitting a headshot at registration.

Registration is set for Sunday, Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. at the Cheerleading Training Center of Michigan, located at 14922 Technology Drive in Shelby Township. Auditions will begin promptly at 12 p.m.

The audition will consist of two rounds of skills demonstration where potential team members will showcase their partner stunting and tumbling skills.

The team says participants may also be asked to participate in a brief one-on-one interview to discuss the commitment required as a member of the Detroit Pistons Cheer Team.

Participants must be 18 years or older by Oct. 1, 2013.
