DETROIT – Paul George led the way with 31 points and 10 rebounds as visiting Indiana overwhelmed Detroit in the second half and remained undefeated.
C.J. Watson added 15 points and Lance Stephenson collected 10 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Pacers, who are the last remaining unbeaten team in the NBA after starting 4-0 for the first time since 2004-05. Roy Hibbert blocked seven shots and hauled in 10 rebounds to go with eight points as Indiana limited the Pistons to 37.9 percent shooting.
Brandon Jennings scored 17 points on 6-of-20 shooting, Josh Smith added 16 and Greg Monroe recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds for Detroit, which went 5-for-25 from 3-point range.
The Pacers looked like they would run away with it in the first quarter, when George poured in 12 points en route to a 29-14 lead at the end of the period. The Pistons turned the tables in the second, holding George without a field-goal attempt and outscoring Indiana 27-9, including a 10-0 run to close the half and go into the locker room with a 41-38 edge.
The Pacers used a 15-2 run early in the third quarter to take back the lead, getting six points from George in the spurt and taking a 74-63 advantage into the final stanza when George scored the final three points of the third. Detroit tried to get back into it in the fourth but George capped a 9-1 run with a 3-pointer and Indiana held off a late charge.
