Dan Orlovsky: Lions 'going in different direction with Rudock as backup'

The Lions are moving on from quarterback Dan Orlovksy.

Michigan product Jake Rudock will likely be the new backup quarterback for the Lions.

Orlovsky told Sirus XM NFL that the Lions let him know they'd be moving in a new direction.

Orlovsky spent seven seasons with the Lions, in two separate stints, playing in 14 total games.

In 2008, Orlvosky played 10 games for Detroit, throwing for 8 touchdowns.
