Orlovsky told Sirus XM NFL that the Lions let him know they'd be moving in a new direction.
Orlovsky spent seven seasons with the Lions, in two separate stints, playing in 14 total games.
In 2008, Orlvosky played 10 games for Detroit, throwing for 8 touchdowns.
