Police said 24-year-old Fairley had marijuana on him, enough for him to get slapped with the second-degree possession charge.

This arrest comes a day after it was announced Lions running back Mikel Leshoure was arrested twice this winter on marijuana charges.

Fairley was drafted by Detroit 13th overall in 2011.

Leshoure was the team's third pick in the 2011 draft.

The Lions issued this statement on the arrests:

"We are aware of the incident involving Nick Fairley. We hold all of our players to a high standard of behavior and the recent charges against Nick and Mikel Leshoure are not consistent with those standards. We are extremely disappointed. We will continue to gather information and will have further comment at the appropriate time."
