NEW ORLEANS - If Sean Payton's New Orleans Saints are inclined to reflect back on anything, it's not so much their record-breaking 2011 season as their disappointing first-round playoff loss to Seattle a year ago.
Payton says the Saints should understand when they open postseason play against Detroit on Saturday night that their season could end quickly if they're unprepared or do not execute as well as they have in recent weeks.
The 2011 Saints might be better than the 2009 team that won the Super Bowl. Both were 13-3 in the regular season, and this season's team set a slew of NFL and franchise records, mostly on offense.
Yet Payton says now is no time to reflect on this season's accomplishments. He says it's all about the challenge ahead.
