The matchup showcases two Central Division and Original Six rivals who have started this shortened season in opposite fashion. Chicago hasn't dropped a game in regulation on route to a record-breaking first two months, tallying 30 points faster than any team ever has.

On the other side, Detroit has fought hard for 23 points, battling through injuries up and down the lineup.

The teams first met this season Jan. 27 when the Blackhawks topped the Red Wings in overtime, 2-1, at the United Center. Nick Leddy scored the game winner.

Since that meeting, Chicago hasn't missed a beat, but Detroit suffered a 5-game losing streak and several close losses before righting the ship and climbing back into playoff contention.

The Red Wings are coming off of a shootout win in San Jose. Damien Brunner's shootout wrist shot was enough to give them the 2-1.

The teams met six times last season. Chicago got the upper hand on the series, 4-2.
