DETROIT – Daniel Cleary is leaving the Detroit Red Wings to play with the Philadelphia Flyers, according to multiple reports.
Cleary and the Red Wings reportedly were working on a new contract but the 34-year-old opted for another team.

According to reports, the winger will sign a three-year deal with the Flyers that will pay him $2.75 million a year. The Flyers will have to clear some cap space before they can officially sign the veteran forward.
Cleary came to Detroit in 2005 and helped the Red Wings win a Stanley Cup in 2008. He scored a career-high 26 goals in that Cup year.
This past season, Cleary appeared in all 48 games with Detroit, notching 9 goals and 6 assists.
