Army son surprises mother with reunion at Pistons game

Woman reunited with son stationed in South Korea

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – The Detroit Pistons' 107-91 comeback win over the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night was an afterthought for one local mother when the team coordinated a surprise reunion for the woman and her son, who serves in the Army.

U.S. Army Private First Class Namon Bledsoe has been serving in South Korea for the past year, but returned home on leave this weekend.

Bledsoe wrote the Pistons about the sacrifices his mother, Denise Edwards, made for him throughout his life and the team arranged the reunion through its "Hoops For Troops" program.

Edwards was given courtside seats for Gloria Gaynor's halftime performance and saw her son for the first time in a year. Bledsoe was escorted to his mother by Gaynor and Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond.

The pictures from the Detroit Pistons, below, show the reunion between Bledsoe and his mother.
