DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings will honor the 1997 Stanley Cup Championship team with a pre-game celebration Tuesday night at Joe Louis Arena.
The team broke Detroit's 42-year championship drought with a dominant playoff performance capped off with a 4-0 sweep of the Philadelphia Flyers in the final series. Members of the team will be in Detroit when the Red Wings host the Buffalo Sabres Tuesday night.

Fans at the Joe can expect:
- A special pregame on-ice ceremony to honor the 20th anniversary of the Red Wings historic championship run and the organization's first Stanley Cup in 42 years
- Several fans will be selected to take part in a post-game ceremony to receive a jersey "off the back" and autographed by a member of the 1997 Championship Team. After receiving the jersey, fans selected will also have an opportunity to take a photo with the Stanley Cup.
- First 5,000 fans in attendance at The Joe will receive Locker Room Hats styled similar to the widely-popular Stanley Cup® Championship black and suede hats worn by the Red Wings after winning the 1997 Stanley Cup® Championship
- The Conne Smythe and Clarence S. Campbell bowl will be on display
The championship was followed by a massive celebration in Downtown Detroit. The Stanley Cup Victory Parade filled Woodward Avenue with a sea of Red Wings fans on June 10, 1997.

COMING UP:
The Red Wings will visit the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday for the Centennial Classic, which will be played outdoor at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto. You can watch it on Local 4 at 3 p.m. Sunday.
