Pavel Datsyuk, who had two points Monday night, left the game with a shoulder injury. He also did not skate on Tuesday, according to St. James.

Both Helm and Datsyuk missed a significant portion of this past season with injuries. It's unfortunate to see key players get injured in preseason games, but hopefully these aren't too serious.

The Red Wings beat the Penguins 2-1 with power play goals from Tomas Tatar and Datsyuk. Jimmy Howard made 26 saves (26/27 shots) while Petr Mrazek made 10. Beau Bennett scored Pittsburgh's loan goal. The Penguins had the edge in shots -- 36 to Detroit's 27.

The Red Wings travel to Chicago on Tuesday to play the Blackhawks at 8:30 p.m. The Hawks will come to Detroit on Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. preseason game at Joe Louis Arena.
