Royals win series: Tigers fall 5-2

Eric Hosmer's 3-run home run in the 5th propels Royals to series win

KANSAS CITY, Mizz. - The Tigers dropped the third game of their series with the Royals on Sunday 5-2. Kansas City took two of the three games over the weekend.

After Jose Iglesias' home run to left center put the Tigers ahead 2-0 in the 3rd, The Royals answered with two runs in the 4th, three runs in the 5th and another run in the 7th.

Eric Hosmer put the Royals ahead with a 3-run home run to center in the 5th.

The Royals got the best of Doug Fister (L, 12-8) who pitched 6.1 innigns. Fister allowed five runs (all earned) on eight hits, walking one and striking out four.

The Tigers continue their roadtrip with a three-game series against the White Sox starting on Monday.
