U.S. Women's National team to hold pep rally, open training in Detroit

DETROIT – The U.S. Women's National Soccer team is coming to Detroit Wednesday for a pep rally and open training session.

The pep rally will celebrate the team as it prepares for its match against Haiti. It's scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Renaissance Center. Players Carli Lloyd, Heather O'Reilly and Sydney Leroux will be at the event to answer questions and sign autographs. The World Cup trophy will also be on display and available for photos.

Here's the schedule for the morning pep rally:
10:30 - 11:05: Pep rally and Q&A session
11:05 - 11:35: Autograph and photo session
11:00 - noon: World Cup available for photos

The public training session will begin at 5 p.m. at Ford Field and is free for the public.

This open training session comes before the team plays Haiti, a late replacement for Australia, which couldn't send a team due to a players' dispute. The game will be Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Victory Tour began in August with two U.S. wins over Costa Rica.

Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and fans should enter through Gates A and G. Parking is $6 and fans can park in the Tiger Garage, the Ford Field Parking Deck and Lot 6.
