DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers have placed catcher James McCann on the 10-day disabled list with a left hand laceration, the team announced Friday.
McCann left Thursday night's series finale in Houston after being hit by a pitch in his hand. Mike Fiers' pitch hit McCann in the top of the fourth inning, and McCann was immediately replaced by pinch runner Alex Avila.
