Video: Eastern Michigan students stage peaceful protest following football game

Students at Eastern Michigan University staged a protest on the field following their football game against Wyoming on Friday.

Students and staff at Eastern Michigan University were angered last week after someone spray-painted racial slurs on the side of a campus building

The message was spray-painted in a low-lit, little traveled area, meaning cameras didn't directly capture it. But police are aggressively investigating every lead.

"We are researching and interviewing anyone who may have been in that area to find whoever is responsible, because quite honestly, this is a rarity on our campus," EMU police Chief Bob Heighes said.

A student told reporters that the goal of the protest was to bring awareness. The student told the reporter that he believed "most of the white students" aren't on their side.

The protest was organized with the help of the university.
