WDIV Local 4 is Detroit's NO. 1 station in February 2012 ratings

Local 4 is No. 1 station sign on to sign off

DETROIT – WDIV-TV Local 4 is the #1 station, winning the February 2012 Nielsen ratings period in the Detroit television market from sign on to sign off with a 4.4 household rating and 10 share (Mondays to Sundays). In addition, Local 4 News is #1 at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., and NBC's The Voice is #1 in primetime.

Local 4 News at 5 p.m. is #1 in the time period with a 6.7 household rating and a 14 share, a growth of 18% in ratings and 17% in share over November 2011, beating both WXYZ (5.8 HH RTG/12 SHR) and WJBK (6.0 HH RTG/13 SHR). Local 4 News at 6 p.m. is #1 in household ratings in the 6-6:30 p.m. time period garnering a 8.4 household rating and a 16 share (compared to WXYZ 6.1 RTG, 12 SHR and WJBK 5.1 RTG, 10 SHR). Local 4 News at 11 p.m., anchored by Carmen Harlan, Devin Scillian, Chuck Gaidica and Bernie Smilovitz, is #1 M-F with an 8.8 household rating and a 16 share (compared to WXYZ 7.1 RTG, 13 SHR, WJBK 10pm 7.5 RTG, 12 SHR, and WJBK 11pm 5.0 RTG, 9 SHR).

Local 4 News Morning at 6 a.m. showed ratings growth of 12% and share growth of 8% over November 2011, finishing second with a 3.7 household rating and a 14 share (compared to WJBK 4.5 RTG, 17 SHR and WXYZ 3.6 RTG, 14 SHR).

In other dayparts of the WDIV programming lineup, The Ellen DeGeneres Show is #1 the 10-11 a.m. time period (4.7 HH RTG, 15 SHR), Wheel Of Fortune and Jeopardy are #1 in the all important access time period of 7-8 p.m. averaging a 9.6 rating with a 17 share in household ratings (compared to WXYZ 6.4 RTG, 11 SHR and WJBK 4.1 RTG, 7 SHR), and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is #1 in the 11:35 p.m. time period with a 5.2 household rating and a 12 share.

The Voice on NBC/Local 4 is the #1 weekly primetime program, winning in all of the key demographics with a 10.7 rating and a 22 share in Women 25-54, and a 9.1 rating and a 21 share in Adults 25-54. In addition in February, NBC's coverage of Super Bowl XLVI on Local 4 garnered an enormous 47.2 household rating and 71 share, for an increase of 6% over the previous year.
