Local 4 Traffic's Weekend Construction update for May 11-13

DETROITFULL CLOSURES:

I-75:

In Detroit, southbound I-75 will be closed from M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) to I-96 for pavement repair and maintenance. The full closure begins at 9 p.m. Friday and ends by 5 a.m. Monday. Southbound traffic is directed onto westbound I-94 to eastbound I-96 back to southbound I-75.

The full closure will begin where the ramp from southbound I-75 (Chrysler Freeway) leads to southbound I-75 (Fisher Freeway). Access to southbound I-375 will be maintained.

 

M-1 (Woodward Avenue):

In Oakland County, northbound and southbound Woodward Ave will be closed between Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and South Boulevard from 7 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday in order for St. Joe Mercy Hospital in Pontiac to install a new pedestrian overpass above Woodward Avenue. Detours will be posted for both directions utilizing both MLK and South boulevards.  

 

LANE/RAMP CLOSURES:

I-94:

In Wayne County, the left lane of eastbound I-94 will be closed at Ecorse Road from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Friday for sign work.

In Macomb County, the following lane/ramp closures are scheduled on the resurfacing project along eastbound and westbound I-94 between 23 Mile and County Line roads:

From 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday, the eastbound I-94 exit to New Haven Road (M-19) will be closed for construction. Posted detour uses 26 Mile Road.

From 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday, the westbound I-94 entrance ramp from New Haven Road will be closed. A detour will be posted using 26 Mile Road.

From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, eastbound I-94 will be reduced to a single lane from 23 Mile Road to County Line Road.

I-75:

In Wayne County, beginning at 9 a.m. and ending by 4 p.m. Friday, there will be a moving single lane closure on northbound and southbound I-75 between King and Sibley roads for pothole patching.

In Oakland County, the right lane of northbound I-75 will be closed from Maple to Rochester roads starting at 7 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. on Saturday for maintenance work.  

I-696:

In Macomb County, the two left lanes of eastbound and westbound I-696 will be closed between Van Dyke Ave and Groesbeck Highway from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work.

In Macomb County, the left lane westbound I-696 will be closed at Ryan Road from 9 p.m. Friday until 3 p.m. Sunday for barrier wall work.

I-94:

In Wayne County, the left lane of eastbound I-94 will be closed at Ecorse Road from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Friday for sign work.

In Wayne County, intermittent closures at the westbound I-94 ramp to Telegraph Road from 6 a.m. – 9 a.m. on Sunday for sign work. 

I-94/M-39 interchange:

In Wayne County, beginning at 5 a.m. on Friday, May 11, and ending June 18, the right lane of southbound Pelham Road will be closed between Van Born and I-94 for ramp work.

Beginning at 5 a.m. Saturday and ending at 7 p.m. Sunday, the ramp from Pelham Road to eastbound I-94 will be closed.

M-1 (Woodward Avenue):

In Oakland County, the left two lanes of northbound M-1 will be closed at Auburn Road in Pontiac from 9 a.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Monday for the city to upgrade their water main. 

M-59:

In Oakland County, eastbound and westbound M-59 will have alternating double lane closures between Opdyke and Ryan roads from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the application of permanent pavement markings from last years reconstruction.

Starting the week of Monday, May 14:

I-94:

In Macomb County, eastbound and westbound I-94, between 23 Mile Road and County Line Road, will be reduced to a single lane NIGHTLY, starting at 7 p.m. and ending by 6 a.m. the following morning from Monday night to Friday morning.   

I-75:

In Oakland County, the left lane of northbound I-75 at Wattles Road will be closed DAILY from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. starting Monday and ending Wednesday for sign work.

I-696 Service Drives:

In Macomb County, beginning at 7 a.m. Monday and ending at 7 p.m. Friday, there will be a single lane closed on the eastbound and westbound I-696 Service Drives between Hayes Road and I-94 for resurfacing work.

M-39 (Southfield Freeway):

In Oakland and Wayne counties, the following restrictions will be in place on M-39 for punch list work from last years project:  

The left lane of southbound M-39 will be closed from 9 Mile to 7 Mile roads from 8: 30 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.

The left lane of northbound M-39 will be closed from 7 Mile to 9 Mile roads from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the southbound exit to 8 Mile will be closed from 7:30 a.m. -5 p.m.    

M-150 (Rochester Road):

In Oakland County, as a reminder, scheduled to begin at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, northbound and southbound Rochester Road will be closed between 2nd Street and University Drive in downtown Rochester for long term reconstruction until the end of July. Detours will be posted. 

US-24 Business Route (Dixie Highway):

In Oakland County, westbound Dixie Highway at Sashabaw Road will have the right lane, and right turn lane, closed DAILY from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Monday through Friday in order to install underground cables.
