WARREN, Mich. – An army of firefighters and first responders spent almost an hour Monday working to get a man out of his car after a semi truck fell on top of it on I-696 near Mound Road in Warren.
The trailer completely crushed the man's Chevy Impala, but after he was pulled out, the man was moving around he was put on a strecher.

Residents watched as firefighters pulled the man from the horrific scene after hearing the sound of a semi truck tipping over and crushing the car. The car was crushed on the Mound Road exit from I-696 East and slid to a stop underneath the 11 Mile Road overpass.
That's when the rescue began, as Warren firefighters worked frantically for almost an hour to free the driver trapped inside.
People who live near the scene said they were afraid of what the outcome would be after they saw the aftermath of the crash, but the man appeared to be OK as he was pulled out of the wreckage by firefighters.
People said incidents happen a lot in the area because the exit ramp is tricky to navigate. Police have not said the ramp caused the crash.
