If you're looking for the ultimate movie-watching experience, Metro Detroiters have chosen their favorite movie theaters in the Detroit area.

Recommended over 900 times and placing first in this year's contest is Emagine Theatres, with multiple locations throughout Metro Detroit.
Emagine Theatres says its theaters play all of the latest films, play concerts and other alternative types of entertainment. They also offer rooms designated for children's birthday parties, corporate events and more.

Farmington Civic Theater
Located in Downtown Farmington and voted second best Detroit movie theater is Farmington Civic Theater.
Designed by C. Howard Crane, who also designed Detroit's Fox Theatre, Farmington Civic Theater says its 1940s-era theater features clean, friendly staff and the best popcorn around.
"The Civic has been the best since my mom was a little girl," said Sheryll.

Bel Air 10 Digital Theater
Located on East 8 Mile Road in Detroit, Bel Air 10 Theater also makes the list of best Detroit movie theaters.
Formerly the Phoenix Theatre, Bel Air 10 Theater says it is now a family destination for the Detroit area. The movie theater adds that its professional staff, expanded concession menu and all digital projection and sound system will make your visit and safe and enjoyable one.
"I love the fact that Detroit has a newly remodeled Digital theater," said Joe. "The staff at Bel Air is wonderful."

MJR Digital Cinemas
With locations throughout Metro Detroit, the MJR Digital Cinema in Sterling Heights was also recommended as one of the best in Metro Detroit.
MJR Theatres says all of its movie theaters and films are presented in Digital HD and their ticket prices are one of the cheapest.
"The best prices and cleanest theaters in Metro Detroit," said Kim. "Plus, what other theater has such a fun theme song? CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!"
