2 more batches of snow on the way to Metro Detroit

1st some more snow, then warmer temps this week

DETROIT – We have two more batches of snow to contend with.

The first batch will fall tonight between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m. This should bring a widespread 1to 2 inch accumulation to the metro area. If you are up late tonight watching this snow, it may come down pretty heavy at times, but the snow event will be of very short duration, which will limit snow totals.

Road crews will have time to get the freeways treated before the morning rush, and here's the best news: since temperatures Tuesday morning will be around ten degrees warmer than they were this morning, salt will be much more effective.

The second batch of snow should fall between noon and 5 p.m. Tuesday, and another 1 to 2 inches are possible (although, right now, I'm thinking we'll be on the lower end of the range). This could impact the evening rush.

Following this, we'll see milder temperatures through Friday, with temps in the 30s Wednesday and Thursday, and near 40 on Friday…although this warmer air will also bring rain chances toward the end of the week.
