DTE: 18,000 customers without power in Metro Detroit

Storms cause power outages throughout Metro Detroit

DETROIT – According to a DTE Energy spokesman, 18,000 customers are still without power after storms blew through metro Detroit.

The energy company said the majority of the outages were in Macomb County the rest were scattered in surrounding areas.

Power is expected to be back on for all customers by Wednesday night.

Storms moved through the area Tuesday afternoon and evening, knocking down trees and flooding areas. Areas in Macomb County had several reports of flooding and lightning strikes.

DTE offers a power outage map showing which customers in its service area are without power.

This is a large weeping willow that collapsed in Chesterfield Township at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. It missed the house, the neighbor's house and the pool. The shed probably won't make it.
