DETROIT -

Skies will clear over Detroit Friday morning with temps starting in the middle and low 20s.  High pressure will stabilize the atmosphere. The afternoon will be bright and beautiful with highs near 40 degrees for kids who want to play outside during recess.

Friday night will be chilly with lows in the upper and mid 20s.

The return flow from the southwest will give a much-needed boost to weekend temperatures.

Saturday will be partly sunny with highs near 45.  Sunday will be milder with highs near 50.  There is a chance of rain on Sunday, too, so outdoor plans are better suited for Saturday.  Sunday will be good for fans of Autorama at Cobo in downtown Detroit.

Daylight Saving Time occurs this weekend.  As residents "Spring Forward" one hour Saturday night into Sunday, batteries for smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors should be replaced.

Monday will become colder with a cold front following the rain. Thus, a wintry mix may fall with temps in the 40s then 30s.
