DETROIT – Several southeastern Michigan counties are under dense fog advisories Monday afternoon and evening.

A dense fog advisory means visibilities are reduced to less than 1/4 mile. Drivers are warned to slow it down and be cautious.

The fog came to the area Monday morning and has persisted ever since. However, as winds increase Monday night, the fog should move on out. Still, the advisories won't expire until 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Counties under dense fog advisories include Lapeer County, Livingston County, Washtenaw County, Macomb County, Wayne County, St. Clair County, Oakland County and Genesee County.
