Relief from winter-like cold continues in Detroit with Tuesday morning lows above freezing in the 40s. Skies will be partly sunny, and it will be warmer. Highs will be in the middle and upper 60s with a southwesterly wind 10 to 15 mph. That is the good news.

The bad news is more rain is on the way for waterlogged areas of the Lower Peninsula. Showers and thunderstorms will cruise in and develop from the west keeping the water levels of rivers, streams and creeks high. Rain will move across Southeast Michigan starting just after 5 p.m. Rain will be heavy at times.

The Detroit Tigers are back in town taking on Kansas City. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:08 p.m., and it has a good chance of occurring on time. Fans should be prepared for rain at some point during the match-up.

Tuesday night remains wet with lows in the 40s and a few thunderstorms.

Wednesday will have leftover showers, especially in the morning. Also, it will be chillier and breezy with highs only near 50 degrees.

Cooler than average air remains Thursday with highs near 50. Mild air slowly returns for Friday and the weekend.
