Severe thunderstorm watches remain for SE Michigan counties

Tornadoes leave path of destruction in Washtenaw, Monroe counties.

DETROIT – Tornadoes ripped through Washtenaw and Monroe counties Thursday evening leaving a path of destruction.

The city of Dexter was hit particularly hard. Many homes were damaged. However there have been no reports of injuries.

While the tornado warnings have expired for southeastern Michigan counties, several counties remained under severe thunderstorm warnings until 9 p.m.

Several severe thunderstorm watches were also issued Thursday night.

Flash flood warnings Washtenaw, Lapeer, Monroe and Genesee counties.
