DETROIT -

A windy, cold and snowy Tuesday night has created slick conditions on Metro Detroit's roads.

Drivers are advised to take it slow and safe Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The morning should arrive with scattered snow showers. Skies should eventually become partly cloudy by Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, wet conditions with temps near 20 degrees will keep roadways slick and slippery. Two counties, Washtenaw and Wayne, have been issued special weather statements for bands of heavier lake effect snow.

That means the counties could see a burst of moderate to briefly heavy snowfall, according to the National Weather Service. Some areas could see 1 inch of snow an hour.
