Sunday morning will be mostly clear and mild before dawn with temperatures in the upper 60s in the city and in the low and middle 60s in Detroit's suburbs. Families traveling to and from services will have dry roads.

Temperatures rise quickly through the 70s to the low 80s by lunchtime. Skies will be mostly sunny for racing fans driving to the Pure Michigan 400 at MIS.

Sunday afternoon will be hotter with plenty of sunshine for everyone and highs near 90°F. There is some instability in the atmosphere, but only a 10 to 20 percent chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm means most neighborhood remain dry. Families will need to remain hydrated and cool with plenty of sun screen to enjoy the day happy and healthy.

Sunday evening will be fair and warm with temperatures in the 80s.

Sunday night lows will be near 70 degrees in Detroit and in the 60s in its suburbs with fair skies.

A cold front moves closer to the Motor City Monday giving rise to the chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be hot, again, with highs near 90°F in the afternoon and heat indices between 90°F and 95°F.

The front stalls over Southeast Michigan and the Lower Peninsula for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Therefore, showers and thunderstorms are possible each day. It will not be as hot with highs between 80°F and 85°F during the day. Plus, the chance of rain means homeowners can save on their water bills by not having to use their sprinklers as often.
